The Vision
Living on the river meant this homeowner wanted an outdoor space that took full advantage of the beautiful views while providing a comfortable place to relax and entertain. Unfortunately, the existing deck had extensive rot that made repairs impractical. The goal was to replace the aging structure with a safer, more durable deck, add a gazebo for shade and shelter, and preserve the existing fire pit by reusing brick from the adjacent patio. The finished space would blend durability, comfort, and timeless style while creating the perfect place to gather with family and friends.
The Solution
The project began with a complete tear-down of the deteriorated deck before constructing a brand-new outdoor living space designed for years of dependable use. Premium AZEK® Vintage Mahogany decking was chosen for its rich, natural appearance and low-maintenance durability, while Trex® Signature iron railings added both safety and a clean, modern finish.
A custom gazebo was securely installed on the new deck, creating a comfortable shaded retreat with curtains for added privacy and protection from the elements. Updated electrical was incorporated into the rebuild to provide lighting for evening gatherings and improve the deck’s overall functionality. To preserve part of the existing outdoor space, brick from the adjacent patio was carefully salvaged and used to refurbish the fire pit. The stairs leading to the lower deck were also rebuilt with improved structural support, creating a safer and more durable connection between the different outdoor living areas.
